So that event promoters and track announcers can better speak about the drivers and cars running in the Nostalgia Super Stock class, we’ve put together a very nice 2012 Media Guide.

Drivers can go to http://www.nssracing.com/media-guide/ to answer a few simple questions in less than five minutes, and optionally attach a digital photo of their car. Their page is then added to the next build of the 2012 Media Guide.

The media guide is a PDF file (free Adobe Reader, present on most computers is needed to read) that can be printed and handed to the track announcer, or he can have it opened on his computer/tablet. The pages are in Driver Number order, and can quickly give the announcer the proper facts on both car and driver.

We are asking for all drivers to list all NSS cars (this really is easy and can be completed in less than 5 minutes) they might find themselves driving in 2012, and for all event promoters to give the guide to their track announcer.

The guide will be updated at least once a week, as new drivers and cars are submitted. A confirmation will be emailed to you once you submit. Please add your car today.

Here are your nominations for the 2011 season. Please chose one and return them
to the NMCA for processing. Deadline for the final voting will be November 12th.

Rookie of the Year
For any racer that displayed exemplary performance
in their first full season of racing in a class.

Note: This is the most
difficult category to nominate because of individual interpretations of the word
rookie. Should a driver who has bracket raced for 20-years be considered a
rookie if this is his first season racing with NMCA? If a driver has been
successful in one class and elects to run another class for a full season be
considered a rookie as well? Or, should a person who has never raced more than a
few test and tunes be the only type of racer considered? Those questions need to
be considered in your nominations, but will be answered once the popular vote
has been counted.
1.) Andy Manson
2.) Michael Rickman
3.) John Warren

Sportsman of the Year
For any person that displayed true
sportsmanship and courtesy during competition. This does not necessarily have to
be a racer.
1.) Ed Rice
2.) Willard Kinzer
3.) Kurt Neighbor

Crew Member of the Year
This award is meant to honor the
crew member that had the most significant impact on their team’s performance
during the season.
1.) Dallas Schultz
2.) Bryan Parker
3.) Jake Holdridge

Ambassador of the Year
The NMCA Ambassador of the Year is a
person who has made a mark on the NMCA drag racing community by being a true
competitor, a sportsman, and a supporter of both NMCA and all street legal drag
racing.
1.) Barry Camp
2.) Andy Warren
3.) Dave Schultz

You can
Email your votes to awards@NMCAdigital.com
Or Fax them
to 714-444-2509

Last Chance For a Wally in NSS

I just got off the phone with Scott Sparrow with NMCA to see if they would give NSS a Wally to the winner of the Houston race, and he got with Trey and Charlie Harmon — who agreed that there will be a NSS Wally.

For those who didn’t know, for 2011 NMCA partnered up with the NHRA Unleashed series — and winners of the point series races since Joliet have received a Wally. The rumor I’d heard was this was a one year only deal — and I don’t think that NMCA/NHRA will make an announcement (either way) concerning 2012 before PRI.

So, if you haven’t won a Wally so far, and don’t win the one in Indy — then Houston might be the last opportunity you will ever get to put a Wally on your book shelf.

The other good thing about the Houston race — is that NMCA will return all of the NSS Driver’s Fees back to the racers in their purse. The more who come to take their shot at the Wally in NSS — the bigger the NSS purse will be.

The South need some help from its northern brothers to get Nostalgia Super Stock in front of potential future NSS racers, and we need to try to show NMCA that Houston would be a great warm weather replacement for the first or last race of the year. Few NSS racers like Bradenton, but NMCA has to have it proven to them that Houston is a good track to run when it gets too cold up North. Please make plans to make the Houston race November 11-12.

Each year I try to add a new Nostalgia Super Stock Wall Calendar to promote NSS Racing. I have a "Sticky" thread in this forum asking for High Resolution track photos, and on it there are a few examples of previous calendars (always current for the year) that are still available ( http://www.cafepress.com/texasbigbird/6911768 ). In previous calendars, Donnie from Photosport has helped me out with photos, or I've taken them from the stands, and in one calendar a fan provided me with the high res photos.

These calendars are printed as ordered (on demand) here in the US — and shipped to anywhere in the world — as opposed to having a couple of thousand printed up in China. I'm in it to promoted NSS — and never made $100 total off any of the calendars I've created. It isn't a money thing.

I had a few health issues this year, and haven't had the opportunity to personally take any high-resolution photos of good quality — and to date, no one has sent me any.

What I have been able to do is take photos of far less resolution necessary to make a good photo calendar — and spend many hours using some Photoshop tricks to make the photos into Comic book style images of the needed resolution. Over the weekend I've created a calendar using high resolution versions of the low resolution images used below.

Right now as I type this, the calendar http://www.cafepress.com/texasbigbird/7998403 uses 2011 pages and hasn't yet converted to 2012 pages. Generally in October they convert the pages to 2012 — it those interested want to wait until the pages change to 2012. The link will be the same for now with the 2011 pages — and after the conversion of the calendar to 2012.

Promoting NSS Racing

In the pits at Milan, a few of us were taste-testing beer when a question was asked, which I've heard many times in the 8 years I've been running NSS. "What can we do to promote NSS Drag Racing"?

One of the answers came from Doug Duell, when he lamented that NSS racers make a Piss-Poor showing at the NMCA Awards Ceremony at the PRI. A previous NSS sponsor (I believe it was Hedman Headers) walked away from sponsoring NSS with the NMCA a few years back, when only one NSS driver attended the Awards Ceremony. I missed last year's because of surgery, but went to the one two years ago when there was only Doug, Stephanie, and I from NSS who attended. Personally the location sucks for me — and after spending $15,000-$20,000 a year traveling to races where the closest is 900 miles away — I find it hard to justify paying to have Dallas and I traveling to Orlando (a place I personally hate) for a one-hour ceremony. However I will try to attend this year's, and suggest those who live a lot closer to Orlando than I — to also attend. The PRI show does have a lot of cool exhibits that can give a lot of drivers some good ideas for their cars.

Since the race, I've tried to think of what we can do to create more interest in Nostalgia Super Stock racing. Keep in mind that my background is in Business/marketing, and my interests include web design and the Internet. My suggestions below come from that background. Please add any suggestions you have to the thread at www.NSSracing.com/forums — and let's kick them around.

My first suggestion would be for more of the racers to get more active and have less apathy with their personal involvement.

I created the forums for NSS racers to discuss NSS topics. I've heard of grousing that I personally post too much — but that's because others currently post too little. I see a lot of visits to the board, a lot of people reading the posts, and a lot of people registering to post — but too few are posting. The excuses I hear are that "I hate Chat Rooms" (a forum is far different from a chat room), "My Typing Sucks", "I'm afraid my post will cause drama with another poster", ….. What is most likely the deal is pretty common with new boards — a Mexican Standoff. For whatever reason too many people won't post until the board gets popular with many other people posting regularly. Some people are followers and wait for the leaders, while others feel like the forums aren't worthy of their posting until the forum becomes very active. Fact is that posting adds content that is scanned and indexed by search engines. The more context on the web site — the more visitors will be directed to a site. The more visitors directed to a site — the more will participate. The more who participate — the more active the board becomes. So please — if you see a topic that you have an opinion on — please post your opinion. We're all friends here — and unlike other racing forums, we're not going to have a problem with mean-spirited smack. If you have a technical question — ask it. There's no stupid question to most of us. Everyone started out ignorant and only acquired knowledge by the experience of others. I've in the past asked what some might have considered stupid questions — and I didn't care what some might have thought as long as I got a good answer. Any question asked and answered in the forums is better than those asked and answered over the phone/email/Private Messaging — because others will benefit from the experience. There are no real big secrets in NSS racing. Most any double-secret experience advantage is most likely really understood by better than half of the racers anyway, and having others understand makes for better racing. NSS Racers are some of the best in racing — and it is all really down to cutting a good light and hitting the number. The better the NSS racing to those watching — the more popular it becomes.

After every race I post a team report. I have to send one to one of my product sponsors — and so I might as well also post it on the site. While some people feel it is "7-pages of excuses", others are interested in the trials and tribulations of different race teams and it builds searchable content that bring visitors to the web site — and maybe someday racing with us. Why not consider posting a short recap of your team's vision of the race. Many people will actually like to read it — and screw those who don't.

Post any upcoming events in both the Event forum and the public calendar of the forum. If you are an event promoter with a NSS race — you're crazy not to take advantage of publicity. A Marketing class I took in college taught me that publicity is free advertising — and the best type of advertising. Don't leave it to me to look for and post every event — because I'm as busy as everyone else, maybe busier. Items posted in the forum's calendar are advertised at the bottom of the forum's index page starting 45 days prior to the event. The way that sites are ranked by order of popularity on search engines — is based on the number of sites linked to it, and the number of people clicking on those links. If I were to be holding an event — I'd be trying to get my link on as many sites as possible, and I'd want relevant sites to get me clicks.

Use the Free Classified ad section to buy, sell, and post your wants of relevant NSS items.

Upload your car to the Staging Lanes.

Tell others of sites that promote Nostalgia Super Stock Racing.

Post a link to it, or relevant threads in other forums you might visit.

Tell other NSS racers about these sites when you speak with them

If you're on Facebook — click the like button on the NSS Racing page, and share the posting there with others.
Use your email to tell your drag racing friends about these NSS racing sites.

Get a link to NSS sites posted on any site that accepts links. It not only brings new visitors — but raises the ranking of the site on Search engines, generating more people to check it out.

Spread the word about the NSS Class of racing

There are a lot of drag racers out there with acceptable NSS cars — which would require only minimal modifications to be legal to race in NSS. Be on the lookout for these cars — and tell these drivers about NSS. A lot of people don't have a clue that NSS exists. I got into it in 2003, when I owned the Texas Big Bird Pro-Mod car. We brought it to the Monster to make Exhibition passes when I saw all of the NSS cars. Within a week, I'd met Damon on the NMCA forum and then had my red 65 Coronet (which I bracket raced locally) at the Texas Thunder's shop for Mark to convert for NSS and Damon to build the motor.

Talk to your track about having NSS run in one of their events. A lot of the track operators are looking for ideas to bring in spectators — and NSS is a popular class to do it with. Even if you talk them into having you and three other cars come to make some exhibition passes to split a grand.

Submit high quality photos of your car to the appropriate car magazines, telling of its racing heritage in NSS, and include a link to a site like www.NSSracing.com for more information. I've done this many times — and the magazines are more than happy to post a quality link.

Take your kids or a friend to the races. A lot of the current racers got interested in running NSS after seeing it.

Attend more NSS races. The more cars we get to an event, the better the event's chance for survival. More cars also create a better impression to the spectators, event promoters, and other racers who might be interested in running NSS.

Increase your operating distance by another 100 or so miles.

Try to help friends by attending NSS races they're trying to organize in their locale.

Don't participate in just one group's events. Make it a point to include one or two races held by other groups too.

Push to make NSS events better

Remind event promoters that purse size matters. It is not a coincidence that the largest NSS event (the Dave Duell Classic) is also the one with the biggest purse.

Push event promoters to do a better job getting contingency sponsors that actually have something applicable to NSS racers. For instance, in NMCA most all of the products that pay are for the Pro-Thug classes — and not stuff you'd find on a NSS car.

If you support a group (as I do the NMCA), push to have an event in your area. Be persistent.

If you have any influence with a vendor able to donate good swag for the NSS Driver's Dinner at the Dave Duell Classic — use it. Racers love swag. Headers, slicks, and a convertor were highly sought after swag at the last event. With a little help from other racers with influence — we could also have sets of shocks, ignition boxes, recordable tachs, intake manifolds, wheels, heads, carburetors, trans-shields, fuel pumps, billet water pumps….. given out at the Driver's Dinner. Great swag is as good as some of the purses at some of the races, and will attract more drivers to the events. You'd be surprised how many vendors that you have regular contact with who would be more than happy to donate swag. In return they receive racer appreciation (I'm right now buying a new ATI convertor because they ponied up at the last DDC Dinner) and promotion on the DDC web site.

Be a Good Ambassador for Nostalgia Super Stock racing.

Be friendly, courteous, and helpful to other drivers, and potential drivers. It doesn't make a difference what a person has or doesn't have, how long they've raced, where they live, what they do for work, what they drive, who they race with, who they pit with, how much they've won or lost, — or anything else. We all put our pants on the same way each morning, and the great philosopher Rodney King once asked "can't we all just get along?" I can honestly say that I like each and every NSS driver I've ever met. Of all the groups of racers, NSS racers as a whole are the best Ambassadors.

Offer your help to the people running the events that don't have the proper staff to make things run smoothly.

Be pro-active promoting NSS racing. It isn't that hard to make a little effort to help grow Nostalgia Super Stock racing.

These are my ideas on how we can better promote NSS racing.
I originally created this web site to have news and forums for all class of Nostalgia Drag Racing. However, while Nostalgia Super Stockers participated — I couldn’t really personally find others interested Nostalgia Funny Cars, Nostalgia Muscle Car, Gassers, Diggers, Slingshots, etc.

As such, I’ve redesigned the forums to cater primarily to the NSS crowd, and likewise will focus on the NSS Racing web site.

I’m going to put up this domain and web site for sale. The first $2500 gets the domain name transferred to them (I think there’s 8 year left before renewal for $9 a year at Southern Star Hosting), the hosting account with a MySql database at Big Kahuna Hosting for 12 months ($150 a year there after), and a complete backup of the web site on a CD-Rom. The site is very easy to maintain without knowing a lick of programming code. All of the hard work has been done.

Optionally, I’ll make all of the changes you want on a per hour charge — including adding a forum if that’s what you want.

This site offers an excellent opportunity for banner and eBay revenue for an industrious person interested in soliciting sponsors and advertisers.

The NSS Racing Forums are Ready For You!

Since I was confined to rest after surgery, it was a good time to upgrade to a better board of forums for NSS Racers (many of the reasons explained on the board) from all over the country to get together to compare notes and swap lies. I spent three solid days of my time, and several hundreds of dollars to put together what I feel to be a pretty nice place to promote NSS Racing to the outside world — and provide some comradery for NSS Racers.

The web address is pretty easy to remember: www.NSSRacing.com/forums/

Once there, you're going to see a collection of forums to discuss NSS topics, NSS Events, and technical questions & answers concerning NSS Cars. There is also one off-topic forum for the occasional less controversial off-topic conversations. Finally in the forums, there are the classified ads. You will note that at the top of the page there is an index of the last 15 topics, consolidated from all of the forums — but you can ignore that (if you wish) and slide down to just the categories that interest you.

Under the index, you will see a random selection of five NSS cars selected from the "Staging Lanes". Each viewing of the main Forums page should give you a different selection of the member's cars. You are encouraged to add your car to the Staging Lanes. It takes about 5 minutes to add your car, and a couple of the digital photos of it from your computer. You can also upload the car's best time slip if you wish.

While on the subject of photos, each member (and membership is not only free, but quick and easy) has the ability to upload up to a total of 100 NSS related photos into a number of photo albums. For instance you can have an album with some photos of building the car, and album with track photos of the car, and an album of pit party photos from one of the events. Once these photos are in your albums — they can easily be posted in your posts with a simple Copy & Paste. I'll pay for the server hosting and bandwidth — I just ask you keep the photos NSS related.

Another feature of the Board are the calendars. Each member has a private calendar that he can use as a personal calendar — and he has access to a Public calendar to list (and give information on) NSS race events. These events listed in the Public calendar are displayed at the bottom of the board's Index page starting 90 days prior to the event starting, and disappear after the event. Now members can simply add their own events instead of having to email me to add them.

Back to the forums, one of better features over the old Pro Bards I use to use — is WYSIWYG posting. That means What you see is what you get. You can literally copy and paste posts including photos and links, without having to use code like url and img — like we had to on the old board. I also have total control over your registration information, and you can trust me to keep it private. I don't believe that was the case when we were using the Pro Boards forum. I own the software license, I own the server, and only I (currently — but I'm looking for Admin and Moderator help) have access to the information. I will not give, sell, or lease this information short of the FBI beating down my door with a warrant — should a member go crazy.

On the subject of help — I will be looking for two moderators (who visit daily) to help me keep the forums clean and spam-free; and one assistant administrator with a little computer savvy to help with the more complex duties of the board — and be a backup to me if something should happen. We'll get more into that a month or so down the road.

Using the board is easy, and the FAQ link in the Navbar of the board has the answer to just about any question you might have using the forums. There is a Help/Suggestion forum to ask questions if you can't find the answer in the Frequently Asked Questions — and I'll update the FAQ after answering. Should you have a registration problem — click the contact link at the bottom and tell me about it — and we'll get you fixed up. There should be no excuse why every NSS Racers isn't registered and participating.

There is something called Social Groups. Any member can create a social group of any interest he feels other members might have — and they can have their own little board for discussing those topics. You can make this Social Group Private or Public, and have any member join or have it be by your invitation only. I can envision someone creating and administering to a Christian social group, or a Social Group for a Regional group of NSS Racers, or an interest like politics (I'd narrow the focus to Conservative, Liberal, Libertarian, Socialist, …), motorcycles, photography, or guns. Any reasonable Social Group (and I would consider hate or porn to not be reasonable) can be created and administered by a member. Each member can administer up to five Social Groups — but start with just one to get your feet wet.

Another feature is a Profile Page that you can customize into your own personal web page. There is a lot of flexibility with look, feel, and colors — so give it a shot.

Please don't just be a stalker — but jump in there and participate. It doesn't make you a geek! I have no ulterior motives in building this board, or the home site to it. My only goal is to simply promote NSS racing to the public (more fans), event promoters (more races and bigger purses), potential NSS racers (more and younger drivers to carry on); and to create a virtual Pit where NSS Racers can get together and discuss the types of things we generally discuss in our Physical pits. We don't need a Mexican Standoff where everyone waits for others to post before they feel the board is worthy of their post — we need leaders to get the ball rolling so the followers jump in. This is not just the best place for Nostalgia Super Stock Racers to gather on the Internet — it is really the only place. Build it, and they will come! OK — I've done my job building it — now it is time for y'all to check it out and participate. Together we can better promote the finest class of drag racing to the world.

Thank you for reading this. Please pass it along to other NSS Racers.

Why Did the NSS Racing Forum Move?

There are some very good reasons for moving the NSS forum from http://nostalgiadragracers.proboards.com/index.cgi to http://www.nssracing.com/forums/ . Trust me I had far better things to do than spend 12 hours, $200 of my hard earned cash on Vbulletin, and burn up drive space and bandwidth on my server. I know y’all don’t want to read a manifesto, so I’ll just list a couple of the many reasons:

The old board was on a free board Called Pro Boards

I had little control over administering on their Free forum

They suck you in to using them, then they spring on you a big charge. Ning recently did that to me on a bunch of sites — and paying them twice as much for 1/10 the features was not something I was interested in doing.

Pro Boards was collecting more and more on-line shopping habits of the visitors, and I began to wonder how private they’d keep email addresses.

Posting links and photos required the use of code — rather than copy and posting into a post.

Total Control of a Premium Board

Easier to remember URL to the forum

Far more features available to the members (I’ll explain them in another posting)

Far more control for me as the Administrator

Better look and feel

Smart Phone Interface

Finally, I have two other forums that use older versions of Vbulletin that need to be upgraded, and since they are far more complicated because of upgrading vs. a clean install — this gives me an opportunity to get my feet wet with Vbulletin 4 before having to spend days dealing with all of the things that will go wrong on the conversion of those sites.

I am fully aware that it is a pain in the butt to have to take a couple of minutes to again register on the new board — but I promise you that it will be far more worth your while to do so, and this will be the last time.

I will in the near future delete all of the membership and email address on the old Proboard, and then delete the forum so that personal information there is as private as possible. In the meantime, I’ll leave the old forum up for the old posts — but please start your new topics here, and be prepared for that forum to wind down and disappear very soon.

I appreciate your understanding in this. I am only in this to promote Nostalgia Super Stock drag racing to potential drivers, promoters, and events — and to give all NSS racers (regardless of where they are and who they run with) a place to share information and swap lies.

Thank You

Dave ‘Old Hippie’ Schultz

The Nostalgia Super Stock National Association along with the National Muscle Car Association are pleased to announce two additional class runoff sponsors for the 6th Annual Dave Duell Classic Nostalgia Super Stock Nationals being held in conjunction with the 10th Annual Quick Fuel Technology NMCA Muscle Car Nationals event at Beech Bend Raceway the weekend of August 5-7, 2011. The Dave Duell classic is the premier Nostalgia Super Stock event in the U.S. that will now make its home in Bowling Green, KY, an area long known for NSS racing.

For the second consecutive year, Opel Engineering is the title sponsor for the feature race within a race – The F/X Shootout presented by Opel Engineering. Opel Engineering, based in Streamwood, Illinois is a full service automotive machine shop, which specializes in design, component supply, machine work and dynamometer testing for racing engines. As an increase to the established event purse, Opel Engineering will provide a total of $1,500 for F/X contestants during class eliminations, with $1,000 going to the winner, $300 to the runner-up and $100 each to the non-advancing semifinalists.

In addition, Victory Performance Parts Driveline Components has become a first-time sponsor for the NSS/A through NSS/G classes. Victory also sponsors the Midwest Nostalgia Super Stock Series and Nostalgia Funny Car AA/FC Challenge. AFCO Racing has also stepped up and agreed to host the traditional Dave Duell Classic Saturday night dinner this year.

The winner of the Dave Duell Classic will roll out of town with a stout payday. The winner will receive $4,000.00, runner-Up $1,500; semis $500; quarters $250; eighths $100, for an entry fee of $150, which includes the AFCO Racing dinner. Competitors in NSS are also eligible for all the various individual contingency awards normally available in the NMCA season-long sponsor series. For contingency information please refer to www.nmcadigital.com.

NSS reserved parking is available but in order to claim a space, racers must contact Doug Duell (doug@evansvillekia.com) before August 1, 2011. NMCA membership is not required when competing in the Dave Duell Classic. Complete rules and race procedures are available at evansvillekia.com and nmcadigital.com.

The NMCA Series is About To Begin

The long term weather forecast for the race weekend in Bradenton looks good. Partly overcast and temperatures in the high 70s/low 80s. Hopefully the farmer at the top of the track will reconsider plowing into the track’s head wind, reducing the size of the sand dunes forming at the top of the track.

Dallas and I will being leaving for our 1100 mile trip Wednesday morning, so we can get to the track on Thursday afternoon and pay the great value of an extra $90 to park before it gets impossible to maneuver our 80′ rig into a pit large enough for us.

An Bradenton Race update thread has been created at: http://nostalgiadragracers.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=nss&thread=670&page=1 — where those attending the race with Internet access through a cell phone, tablet, or notebook can keep interested parties not attending up to date. Hopefully those attending will keep everyone updated with who made it, who’s in and out — and photos (from their camera phones) of qualifying, ladders, times slips, embarrassing moments — and other general updates of the trials and tribulations of their race team.

Hopefully, the NMCA will have the Live Timing set up, and those interested can have their computers notify them when NSS comes to the line. If you’ve never scoped out Live Timing — it is pretty cool.

So if you’re going to be at the race and have the ability to keep people updated, please do so in the thread. If you’re interested in how things are going for NSS — check the thread.

I have custom 2 1/4″ headers on both Big Red Ram and the Texas Whale.

At the Monster two years ago — Dallas won a $500 coupon for TTI headers. I’ve been hawking Sam Davis at TTI for years now to come out with 2 1/4″ primary headers — and when I wanted to cash in my coupon — I twisted his arm again. I told him that Dallas has a low 9 second Coronet with a 572CI motor using 440-1 heads, and that I’d like for the car to have the best breathing headers I can get, have removable collectors and cut flanges for easy maintenance at the track, and the ability to continue using them if I put 572 heads on the car.

What Sam came up with is a set of headers that use 572 head flanges, have the primaries step from 2.25″ to 2.125″, have the flanges nicely trimmed for a front, rear, and pair of center tubes going into the massive collectors, and coated. It took a couple of stabs at it because we use a B&M deep transmission pan, CSR Carbon Fiber trans shield, and a PPP shifter — so Sam bought those items for his mock up buck — and created a nice compact PPP shifter cable bracket that also is a CSR shield bracket. Very nice piece.

We were able to install this in Dallas’ 65 Coronet while on jack stands, by only removing the spark plugs. Nothing else needed to be loosened. It is a tight fit in the engine compartment, around the starter, and the transmission — but you don’t have a lot of real estate to work with in a 62-65 B-Body with all the race stuff, and that’s why TTI has resisted doing these for so long. We did need to switch from a full size Ram truck starter to a mini starter. We used a Powermaster 9523, which is clockable, but Sam assures me that the less expensive 9513 also fits. These are very nice headers — and we’re expecting to see some good performance gains from them.

Now that TTI has these headers mapped, they can make them for other Mopar 63-65 B-Body racers. Since they’ve made them to fit around carbon fiber trans shields, B&M deep transmission pans, and have a replacement for the biggest shifter cable bracket known to man — they should fit just about anything a NSS racer with a 63-65 B-Body has. Since these are semi-custom headers (440-1 or 571-13 flange, cut or uncut, coated or uncoated, polished or unpolished), I would suggest ordering directly from TTI until they have part numbers for the variations. I have no idea what they’ll be priced at — as Sam and I worked out a banner deal on my web sites plus the coupon — but it will certainly be less than full custom headers — and you don’t have to ship your car somewhere. I’m guessing less than 1/3 for custom coated headers.

Please remember — that for years TTI has been a good sponsor of the Dave Duell Classic. Combine that with the best breathing non-custom headers for a BB 63-65 Mopar — and TTI is one of the few working to help NSS Racers.

Update 2/25/2011

Added a couple of engine compartment photos of the headers in Dallas’ Black Coronet.
